The 2008 election will be an important time to support a candidate who will speak clearly and directly on the issues that are important to the people of Utah and beyond. A group of Green Party members in Utah, and non-Greens, have decided to support Cynthia McKinney for president. Cynthia, a six-term member of the U.S. House of Representatives from Atlanta, Georgia, is running for the Green Party presidential nomination. Cynthia McKinney has left the Democratic Party (see her campaign declaration speech by clicking on the 'Issues' link in the menu above) because she felt that party has left the people behind as it has chosen to do the bidding of the corporations that now control the U.S. government. Cynthia McKinney provides the progressive community in the U.S. a great opportunity to bring together peace activists, environmentalists, women, and people of color in order to build a real alternative political movement that will give voice to our concerns that are now largely ignored by the corporate controlled media and war parties.
